Git LFS
Store large files outside git history with Git LFS.
Ghost hosts Git LFS objects for every repository. Install git-lfs, then use it as with any other host:
git lfs install
git lfs track "*.psd"
git add .gitattributes design.psd
git commit -m "Add the design"
git pushClones and fetches download the objects automatically. Over HTTPS, git-lfs uses the same API key as git.
Over SSH
SSH remotes work as they are: git-lfs asks Ghost over SSH for a short-lived token, then moves the files over HTTPS.
Locks
Lock a file so others know you are editing it:
git lfs lock design.psd
git lfs locks
git lfs unlock design.psdgit-lfs refuses to push changes to a file someone else has locked. A repository admin can remove another person's lock with git lfs unlock --force.
Storage
LFS objects count against your account's LFS storage limit, or its fork limit in a fork, when the instance sets one. A fork starts with a copy of every LFS object in its parent, and merging a pull request from a fork copies the objects its commits point at into the base repository.
The web view shows a file stored with LFS as its contents, marked "Stored with Git LFS".
